A PLACE OF WORSHIP FOR 100 YEARS
St. John’s Church at 33 Hanbury Street MAYFIELD was constructed in 1915.
The FOUNDATION STONE was laid on 17th April and Church building was dedicated on 28th August.
The first Worship Service was held on SUNDAY 29th AUGUST 1915
To commemorate and celebrate these events St. John’s members organised two (2) major functions.
The first was held on 12th April 2015 to commemorate and re-enact laying of the Foundation Stone.
On Saturday 29th August 2015 a special church service was held followed by a luncheon, over 150 guests gathered to celebrate the 100 year ministry of the church.
A church history was prepared, contact John Yoole if you would like a copy.
